A perceived disability is leveraged as a real talent


Gifted Hands Network is a social business which aims at reducing breast cancer deaths and increasing on the employability of visually impaired women in Uganda. We recruit and train visually impaired women to become qualified and certified medical tactile examiners that carry out the early detection and prevention of breast ca​ncer among women in Uganda. Once breast cancer is early detected can be cured by local treatment methods available in Uganda like that of chemotherapy. Gifted Hands Network is both an international and national award winning organisation.

2016:    Finalist at the African Entrepreneurship Award and won the Award for Social Impact.

2016:   An award winner and a Speaker at the African competitions African Summit on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Kenya.

2016:   Nominated for the United Partnership Award in Makerere University Uganda.

2017: A global Award second place winner in the World competitions Ideas for Action 2017 organized by World Bank Group and Wharton Business School, USA ,Washington DC. A speaker at the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Annual meetings 2017 in Washington DC, USA.

2017: An Award winner at the Uganda Startup Cup Competitions 2017.

2017: Selected as an ambassador for Women Deliver an international organization in USA.

2018: Guest Speaker at the 1st IdeaLab in Africa organised by World Bank and hosted in Nigeria

2018: Obama Foundation Leader Africa 2018.

2018: Winner of the Young Achiever’s Award 2018 in Social entrepreneurship category.
